Tanzania

This outfitter has been a professional hunter in Africa for over 40 years. As a steward of wildlife conservation and one of the most well respected outfitters in all of Africa, this outfit's experience and reputation has proved second to none. This outfitter has five adjacent hunting concessions in south west Tanzania which cover some 3 million hectares and are comprised of Lukwati Game Reserve (North & South), Chunya Open Area (East & West) and Piti Open Area (West). In addition they have Ngaserai in Masailand where clients can pick up the East African plainsgame only huntable in Tanzania.

Lukwati North and South Game Reserves
Lukwati Game Reserve borders Lake Rukwa to the West and the Rungwa and Yeye Rivers to the north. To the east lies the Mwipa River and Forest Reserve. This well watered area consists of Miombo woodland, flood plains, rocky outcrops, mountain ranges and numerous rivers – both seasonal and permanent. Large herds of buffalo are resident all year round and this area is well known for outstanding lion, leopard and sable as well as a variety of other animals such as hippo, crocodile, eland, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, oribi, klipspringer, bushbuck and duiker. There are tsetse flies but generally speaking the areas are mosquito free.

Chunya East & West and Piti West OA
Chunya and Piti are adjacent to Lukwati Game Reserve and border the Rungwa River to the North West and the Piti River in the north. These areas are covered by Miombo forest and acacia woodland, interspersed with flood plains, mountain ranges, springs and seasonal rivers. These areas have a large concentration of sable antelope while greater kudu and roan antelope are prolific. Good quality lion, leopard, buffalo and eland can also be hunted here. Other trophies are klipspringer, oribi, hippo, duiker, zebra, impala and bushpig. Like Lukwati, there are tsetse flies but very few mosquitoes.

Ngaserai WMA
Ngaserai lies north of Arusha at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru. This scenic area consists of acacia woodland and thorn scrub with wide open plains stretching towards Mt. Kilimanjaro in the east and Longido to the north. This area produces some outstanding lesser kudu and gerenuk as well as many of the other species found in Masailand such as fringe-eared oryx, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, white-bearded wildebeest, zebra and ostrich. There are no buffalo or lion on quota in Ngaserai.
